About BAMS

After the completion of 12th from science you can do the BAMS course. BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is a 5.5-year Undergraduate course including internship.

BAMS programme containing the 4.5 years academic session and 1 year internship programme with extensive live practical training etc.

Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) is the responsible body for admission to Ayurveda education.

BAMS Admission & Eligibility

12th Pass out with PCB form recognised board.

  • The candidate minimum academic requirements for getting admission in BAMS is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects from a recognised board.
  • While, for SC/ST/OBC candidates, the qualifying percentage is 40%
  • Candidate must have qualified NEET exam minimum qualifying cut-off percentile to get admission in BAMS course.
Required NEET Score
  • For the general caste category require approx 162 Marks.
  • For SC/ST/OBC require approx. 127 marks.

For the general caste category require approx. 138 marks and for SC/ST/OBC require approx. 108 marks.

Ayurveda Doctor will earn starting salary INR 3.5 lac per annum LPA and highest approx. 9 lac per annum.

It will be difficult to get admission in BAMS but not impossible at this score. As per few last year trend student got the admission in the private colleges at the score of 150 in NEET.

It will be difficult to get the good college for BAMS through 15% all India Quota, but you get the admission in to your state or other state in the private college.

Yes, there is a very good scope for BAMS doctors. You do own practise or become a medical officer in govt. and private hospitals.

MBBS doctors earn good and get good salary in comparison of BAMS, for example MBBS doctor will get approx. 30k to 35K per month and a BAMS doctor will get approx. 25K to 30k per month.
